Tumblr Tuesday, Fashion Week Edition
New York City, September 9-16, 2010

Fashionistas in extremely dangerous high heels are literally tripping all over the city as New York Fashion Week currently hits its, uh, stride. This glorious event happens twice every year and brings the world’s finest and most cutting-edge designers together to display their latest creations. What follows are some Tumblr blogs celebrating the haute couture, the prêt-à-porter, and the falling models.

Fashion Week Live from MAC & Milk invites everyone to participate in this live cell phone project called “Phone Tag” to promote all of the week’s events.

Sara Zucker is an independent fashion blogger who works in marketing and is covering Fashion Week from inside the shows.

What I Wore is Jessica Quirk’s personal style blog. She takes pictures of herself nearly every day and loves vintage inspired clothes.

A closer look at one of Matthew Buchanan’s featured themes: Solaris

One of two new premium themes from Matthew Buchanan, Solaris implements nearly every Tumblr feature imaginable. Custom header graphics, author credit for group blogs, recent tweets, Disqus comments, custom colors, and shared Likes, are all painless to set up.

He’s also added a crazy trick where you can completely invert the colors (from light to dark) with just a click!

I’m inspired to bring a little of the craftsmanship of print typography to the web. I’m also enamored of the minimal, graphic works of illustrators Frank Chimero, Olly Moss and Stefan Dziallas, and wanted to bring some of that style to the largely content-focused layout.
